Quad Bike Safari

A quad bike is like a motor cycle with 4 wheels, but there are many different kinds and it vary a lot in engine size. Here in Dahab you can rent a quad bike from a handful of shops in the center of town.
You do not need a license to operate these machines in Dahab at least not under these guided tours. The guide is technically not I guide in the old fasion term. His job is basically leading the group so they find the way and that everyone comes back.
The machines goes around 80km per hour and are usually well serviced. It is very easy to drive and your guide will give you a short introduction to driving them.

The few tings you need to consider before going on a trip like this is that you have certain factors that can take the joy out of this trip if you are not prepared.
First of all is the sun. You will be out in the open in the desert and the sun is quite strong so you should put on plenty of sun cream so you don’t get burned. You should also have sun glasses, but this is not that much for the sun, but more for protecting you eyes against sand that get whirled up by other participants of the group or by the wind. It is also recommended that you take a scarf of some kind to cover your face or else you will be coming back with sand blocking your moth and ears.
The scarf they usually sell in the quad bike shops for around 20 Le, but you can buy ane from the bazaars in the street for half the price if you really want to save the money. This is like a typical Palestinian scarf or similar.

One thing that you should be aware of is that all the shops have an agreement that you need to sign. This agreement is a liability release and if any thing should go wrong they are not to be blamed. If you somehow should damage the machine you will be held reliable and you will have to cover the cost or your insurance company will have to.

There are two trips that they normally do here.

The first one is a two hour trip where you go to a place called Wadi Ganai and then you go to three pools, these places you can read about in my diving section. The last place you go is Dahab Panorama that you can see a complete over view of Dahab.
This trip is a good two hours and its lot of fun.

The second trip is a 3 hour trip to either three pools or blue hole. The difference between these trips is basically that its included one hour snorkeling. You can choose between Blue Hole that is very famous, but not the best place for snorkeling or you can do Wadi Ganai that is very good for snorkeling.

I can arrange the one hour trip for 120 Le and the three hour trip for 170Le.
